The 39th Heritage Days festival will be held on the 2nd weekend of October, beginning with evening activities at 5 PM on Friday, October 12, 2018 and ending at 6 PM on Sunday, October 14, 2018. The streets are blocked to traffic on Friday afternoon for food vendors to move in and get ready for Friday activities starting at 5 PM with the Chili Cookoff, Children's Parade, Antique and Classic car show and cruise-in and music on the square. Saturday morning, the official opening takes place at 10 AM. Food booths are open, crafters are set up on Main Street and open as well at the Art Show, Quilt Show, Antique Tractor Show, and demonstrators showing off their skills. There is music all day Saturday and Sunday afternoon on the Main Stage set up on one of the town squares, dance all day Saturday and Sunday afternoon on a stage one block away. A Youngun's Yard provides games and fun for the younger children and a separate area has games for the older youth. The festival is open at no charge and handicap accessible. Parking is available at various lots adjacent to the downtown streets and all public parking is free of charge. There are a few private lots offering parking at a nominal fee.
